jd nodded lopez off and turned around, not looking back before stepping onto the main sidewalk near cafe vida. he held two crisp twenties in his hands and folded them twice, to tuck them into the pocket of his jeans. jd looked around, and to his dismay, it was no surprise that there were alot of people out in the streets for that time in the morning. people were shopping, girls were gossiping - it was this huge production his classmates ahd created for the few weeks before the school year started.

jd frowned and avoided the rush of people by ducking into cafe vida, feeling the sudden need for caffeine. he stood in the queue and ordered a black coffee before sitting down near a girl who seemed to be doing well to mind her own business - just the way he liked people to be. jd sipped the coffee in his hand and leaned forward over the table he had sat at, nothing in mind to do for the day besides staying away from all of the people outside. he glanced at the clock above the counter and sighed. it was barely nine in the morning.

this got him thinking about lopez. what was that guy doing with his life? buying crank at nine in the morning. some people just had the kinds of addictions that made them do anything to get their hands on it. jd asked no questions, because money was money, no matter how it was earned.
